Debenhams chief executive Sergio Bucher is expected to step down as the troubled department store chain enters a new phase under the ownership of its lenders.
In other retail news, the number of shoppers visiting stores in March was 1.4 per cent higher than the same time last year when the Beast From the East pummelled many UK high streets, a report has found.
And TSB has become the first retail bank to guarantee customers that they will be refunded if they fall victim to fraud.
